GRAND JURY: She is one of 21 people who testified in the case of a man charged with killing a pregnant woman.

The woman was one of 21 people who testified in front of a grand jury that indicted Tony Lee Reynolds, 23, on murder, sexual assault and other charges. Authorities say six weeks before sexually assaulting the woman, Reynolds killed Estela Perez, 29, in her home near Fairmount Park. Perez, who was five months pregnant, was stabbed at least 33 times, including in the eye. Her throat had been slashed and she had been sexually assaulted with a foreign object. Prosecutors have said Reynolds' DNA was found underneath the woman's fingernails.

Reynolds has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to 14 felonies, including murder and sexual assault.
"He has genetic mental problems that he was born with and we intend to present those to the jury," Reynolds' attorney, Deputy Public Defender Mark Johnson, said.

Other witnesses before the grand jury included the pathologist who conducted the autopsy on Perez, who said Perez's baby, Michelle, was stabbed twice in the head; Reynolds' parole officer, Pauline McEnery, who said Reynolds changed his hairstyle and moved into another home on Antioch Avenue without telling her; and Perez's sister, Antonia Galindo, who described finding her sister's body on March 31.

this type of stuff just makes the world a scary ugly place. I'm glad they caught him
