Our Camping Trip...

well, we made it throught the weekend.. we had a lot of fun...the kids really had a blast. they didn't want to come home today. this was their first camping trip so they learned a lot this weekend. if it were up to them we would have stayed a couple more nights, i'm sure. we had a few set backs setting up camp and such; my sisters tent had a bracket come off the seam while trying to set up; thank goodness for back ups, huh. ( good job james ) although it was a smaller tent, it worked! then one of our coleman stoves failed on us- but the travel bbq did the trick just fine. kaylee learned how to pee in the bushes near our site, it took a few times trying but she did it. friday night was beautiful, the skies were starlit. it was absoutely amazing...eric and i saw a falling star that was unreal! later that night, james and i went walking (after the rest of the gang went to sleep) down the paths near our campsite, i was video taping while walking with my flashlight and he kept making little blair witch comments...after we got to the turn off and a fork on the path, he asked if i wanted to go back and i had already turned around...it was funny and scary... the nights were breezy but then it calmed down and was peaceful except for that you could hear every little thing. i freaked out a few times during the night from little noises outside our tent, which the guys said were probably only squirrels and jack rabbits... saturday we spent down at the lake and we went swimming and floated around in rafts and stuff. the kids' favorite time i think (as well as ours) was the classic campfire, roasting marshmellows, and making smores. they loved that! i took a lot of pics with my still camera, especially at night, you know how digitals just don't always come out the best at night and stuff. so i have film to be delevoped as well. anyways, we ARE glad to be home and to be sleeping in our own beds tonight...very glad too that we took an extra day off tomorrow... we need it!
