Gas Prices and Our Way of Dealing With It...

I guess 'we' ust won't be doing too much traveling, huh? Unless, of course we have a horse and trailer-halfcar in Southern, Ca. NOT... Well, these prices are absolutely ridiculus...

Gas prices won't keep travelers from hitting road this holiday...

Despite rising gas prices, a record number of California and Nevada residents were expected to hit the road this holiday weekend.
More than 4.9 million California residents were expected to travel by car over the Labor Day weekend, up 1.8 percent from last year's levels, according to AAA.
In Nevada, the number of residents traveling by car was expected to rise 2 percent.
But those results came from surveys taken a week ago, before the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. While California's gas supply has not been interrupted like some Southern states, gas prices have risen this week because of two refinery shutdowns in Northern California and increased demand.
"We don't know if that's going to cause some people to change their minds," said Carol Thorp, a spokeswoman for the Automobile Club of Southern California. "Historically when gas prices have gone up, people have not changed their minds."
The average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in California has risen nearly 36 cents over the past month. In Nevada, the price has gone up nearly 32 cents.
California prices have increased 5.8 cents since Thursday to an average of $2.95 for unleaded regular, according to the AAA. In Nevada, the average price for unleaded is $2.84.
But in some parts of both states, unleaded regular has risen beyond $3 a gallon

we are at 3.00 in central florida, although i can get it a bit cheaper at costco (2.85). it really makes me plan my errands, though. i want to do everything i can possibly think of in one area if i go.
